It depends – this is the easiest way to answer to the question: How many pieces of dollhouse furniture should I put in my room? It depends on the size of the room and what you are trying to say. First of all you are not going to want to cram any room with furniture, it is wasteful and distasteful. Second, the more stuff that you put in the more fresh clean space that you will be left without. You see sometimes it is not about what is in the room but what is not. Empty space when it is balanced relays a message of relaxation, cleanliness, and appeal. On the other hand if you have too much space then you simply ask: Is that it? As there are many answers to one puzzle this is just another scenario where you need to play around with it until you have a knack for it. Accessorizing with Fabrics Once you understand that anything and everything can change, be created, or designed in your dollhouse it opens up tons of potential. For instance the amount of detail that is available to you is mesmerizing. A great example is using linens to coordinate your dollhouse design, and make things pop. Matching Colors: A Science that is Well Developed to Help Interior design, for your own personal home, or for your dollhouse kit can be a matter of color choices. Everyone that has gone to high school art or taken any basic art school knows a little bit about the color wheel. When you are looking at a color wheel, it looks almost like someone took a rainbow and connected the arch into a circle. The colors right next to each other are called analogous colors, and offer slight similarities for color patterns, and those opposite offer the most contrast and pop. Making your Miniature House Better: Floor Trim If you are a true crafter you are constantly tweaking your creations. In my last dollhouse building adventure I came across something that I know helped out my interior look tremendously. I discovered the importance of having trim around your floor. The discovery is not entirely new, or my own, there are many places to get doll trim, but I found the cheapest is a very thin flat balsa wood. I painted them white, which went with all the walls in my dollhouse, and attached them to the floors throughout the house. My biggest discovery is when the trim hid most of the fine mistakes between the floor and the wall. The wallpaper walls were also trimmed and I was really happy to see that it prevented fraying due to covering the edges. This discovery truly was a small one, but I believe that it really added to my dollhouse.
